Ipollo Miner: Home Mining Rental Program for a Slow Market

Ipollo Miner's sales director pitched a 12-month miner rental with a small deposit and a profit split, aimed at beginners in a slow market.

Recorded · Mining Disrupt Miami 2023 · 11 min session

Dominique Ngoo, Director of Sales at Ipollo Miner, opened his keynote at Mining Disrupt Miami 2023 (July 25–27, 2023) with a plain introduction. He goes by Domi, he works out of the company's Singapore office, and he looks after crypto miner sales. Ipollo, he said, designs, builds and sells its own machines, and for now it is aiming them at home-based miners and at people who want to try crypto mining at an entry level. The talk that followed was short and commercial in purpose: a company introduction, a corporate video, two new products, and a rental program the company hoped would bring in affiliates during a slow market.

Ngoo also placed Ipollo inside a larger structure. It is a subsidiary brand of Nano Labs, which he said was listed on NASDAQ in July 2022 and which has other subsidiary brands in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space. He described Ipollo as a supercomputer equipment designer headquartered in Singapore, with research and development teams and marketing centers in Shanghai, Los Angeles and other locations. The stated aim is to let more home-based miners and beginners experience mining and hold what he called an entrance ticket into it, while the engineering side keeps working on computing power, stability, lower power consumption and the security of the networks the machines serve.

Inside the Nano Labs family

Ngoo spent a moment on sister brands. Ipollo Verse, also under Nano Labs, is pitched at the Web3 and metaverse crowd, offering computing power for 3D rendering and tools for creators of 3D worlds, including asset trading built on 3D NFTs. He also named Nswap, which he described as an all-in-one NFT marketplace, launchpad and raffle generator.

He then played a Nano Labs corporate video. The video presented Nano Labs as an integrated circuit design company in China whose product lines span high-throughput and high-performance computing chips, distributed computing and storage, smart network interface cards, vision computing chips and distributed rendering. It cited a global market for its segment growing from 101.5 billion dollars in 2017 to a projected 343.3 billion dollars by 2026. It named the company's Cuckoo chip series for high-throughput computing, described as among the first near-memory chips of its kind and an early mover in ASIC-based green mining, and the DuckBird chip inside the Ipollo Bitcoin miners, which the video said delivers high computing power at a reduced size with better power efficiency. The video also mentioned a series for industrial and commercial distributed computing and storage, an overseas push that began in 2021 aimed at North America, northern Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and a metaverse computing network still in development.

Two new machines: the X1 and the V1 Mini Hydro

Back on his own slides, Ngoo sorted Ipollo's lineup into ASIC miners for algorithms such as Ethash, Cuckoo and SHA-256, plus customized servers for coins such as Filecoin. Then came the two launches for the year: the X1 and the V1 Mini Hydro series. The X1, he said, looks much like a GPU card but runs on ASIC chips, and it is built to sit in customized racks so a miner can save room at home.

The V1 Mini Hydro carries its cooling system inside the miner itself. Ngoo said a unit was on display at the company's booth, booth number one, just around the corner from the stage, and he gave the figures for the machine on show.

He did not go further into pricing, noise, or which algorithm the display unit was tuned for. The invitation was simply to walk over and look.

Proof of work, as Ngoo explained it

Before the commercial pitch, Ngoo gave a short definition. Proof of work, he said, is a decentralized consensus mechanism that asks members of a network to spend effort on an arbitrary mathematical puzzle, which stops people gaming the system and keeps bad actors from taking over the network. He noted that the comparison with proof of stake is a highly debated topic, and he set out the case for proof of work in one line: transactions can be processed peer to peer, securely, without a trusted party. That, he said, is why the company wants more beginners mining at home.

at ipolo we want to promote decentralized Mining and let more beginners who are interested in crypto mining to have a lower entry level to learn about mining at their own home

A 12-month rental with a small deposit

Then came the program he had promised at the start. Ngoo acknowledged that the market in general had been slow lately and said the company wanted to help more beginners get started anyway. Ipollo was looking for affiliates to market its miners, and it had built a special program around that.

we are looking to actually rent out our miners for a 12-month contract period with a small deposit

Dominique Ngoo · 8:33

The structure, as he described it: the user places a small deposit with Ipollo, takes a miner on a 12-month contract, and whatever the machine mines over those 12 months is divided between the user and the company.

profits that are mined through this program will be split between the user and ipolo over a 12-month period

Dominique Ngoo · 8:46

He gave no deposit amount, no split percentage, and no detail on who pays for power or where the machine runs. Interested parties were pointed to booth number one to discuss terms in person.

Lineup, repairs and the ask

Ngoo closed with a slide of the miners currently on hand, including the industrial-grade V1 alongside the V1 Mini and the customized servers. He said Ipollo has repair centers worldwide and repairs miners free within the warranty period. Owners open a support ticket by email or use the live chat team on the website, which advises on the procedure and the nearest repair center to ship to. He invited attendees to reach the sales team by email or at www.ipollo.com, said the company was open to any business opportunity or joint cooperation, and signed off wishing the room a pleasant evening and happy mining.

For context, Bitcoin traded around $29,137 on July 25, 2023, when this session was recorded. On October 12, 2026 it was $83,316. Ngoo made no price forecast and no claim about what the rental program would return. The pitch was about entry cost and a chance to learn mining at home, and whether the terms made sense for a beginner was left for the conversation at the booth.
